It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer.       Looking for a fun, family friendly way to get moving? Drums Alive is a fitness program designed for all ages and abilities. The program engages participants in cardio drumming with fun and upbeat music. Everyone can participate at their own pace and comfort level. Be sure to register for these events as there are limited spots available. You can register on the KHCPL Website and see when other classes are available under the events tab.

      Recommended Ages 0-5 Kindergarten Readiness

      The ultimate play-space for preschoolers, the Very Early Childhood Education Center has open play hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week. With each visit, children receive a free book and age appropriate learning activity. There are so many opportunities to play and learn at this free, open to the public resource center. Their play space includes toys, buildings that inspire imaginative play, and learning activities that encourage hands-on play and building construction/engineering.       Fun for the whole family

      Our local bike share is open for the season. Get ready to KokoGO! This is a great way to explore downtown Kokomo with family or friends. To check out a bike rental you must be 18 years old, provide a state-issued ID, and have a credit/debit card held on file in case fees. The bike share has expanded to offer adult, children’s, trikes, tagalong and tandem bikes as well as helmets and bike locks. You can find more details on the City of Kokomo-Parks Department Website.

    • Storytime with Officer Swan and K-9 Max at KHCPL Russiaville | 10-11 a.m.

      Fun for All Ages


    You kids can meet Officer Swan and Max one of our local K-9 officers during this special educational program at KHCPL Russiaville. Officer Swan will share a short story and offer the chance for kids to ask him questions about his job working alongside Max. You’ll even get to meet Max and see a Police Car up close. Portions of the program will be held in the library meeting room and the Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.     • First Friday Events Downtown

    Downtown will be FULL of FUN this Friday for the whole family. It's the best time of the month to stop by your favorite downtown Kokomo shops and establishments, but it gets better…you can help Detective Cynthia Firsts solve a MYSTERY! Check out the First Friday Website or Facebook page for more details on the special scavenger hunt happening this month.

    The Carver Center is excited to offer the chance for local youth to learn and grow their Chess skills and strategy. All ages and skill levels are welcome, but please bring your own board if you have one. Chess club is another benefit of your Carver Community Center Membership with discounted rates. Others we aren’t members are welcome to join in for just $10 per week or $15 per month. Parents are encouraged to stay and play too.       Fun for the whole family

      Summertime in Kokomo means that Kokomo Beach is open! After the previous weekend preview, Kokomo Beach is now open daily through July 28 and we are ready for some fun. You can purchase a season pass or just drop in for the day, but we know you are excited about swimming, the splash pad, the lazy river, and of course the water slides (48” height requirement). Keep your eyes out for special events at Kokomo beach including swimming lessons, water walking (ages 18+ only), and more.
