Fun for all agesThe summer adventures at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library have been so much fun! In partnership with the Picard Lab from the School of Science at Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI), participants that join in at Bug Appétit will learn about the benefits of incorporating insects into their daily diets. Summertime in Kokomo means that Kokomo Beach is open! After the previous weekend preview, Kokomo Beach is now open daily through July 28 and we are ready for some fun. You can purchase a season pass or just drop in for the day, but we know you are excited about swimming, the splash pad, the lazy river, and of course the water slides (48-inch height requirement). Keep your eyes out for special events at Kokomo beach including swimming lessons, water walking (ages 18+ only), and more. Help beat the heat and attend a summer Water Spray hosted by the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department. Imagine running through the sprinkler in your backyard only bigger, huge actually. Pack swimsuits, sunscreen, and bring the whole family out to the water spray! These events are so fun and happen monthly at different local parks. Watch the Jackrabbits take on the Kenosha Kingfish from the backyard seats or reserved seats in the stadium. You can purchase tickets online or at the stadium, but be sure to check their promotional schedule for games that will feature fireworks and extra fun.

Follow along on the journey of Charlie Bucket and his dream of winning a golden ticket and the chance to tour Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Local youth and Kokomo Curtain Call volunteers have been working hard to perform a show that will truly satisfy your sweet tooth. You can purchase your tickets online for the 7 p.m. performance on Friday, July 19 or 2 p.m on Saturday, July 20.

Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located just off of Dixon Road and is open from 3-10 p.m. on Sundays for a ton of fun.
