It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Here’s something you can do with your kids every day this week! Take a look and tell them we sent you!


  • Monday, Feb. 3, 2025

    • Winter Blues Busters at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Main Branch

      Our friends at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Libraries are trying to help us all beat the winter blues with a series of special winter programs. This week the Winter Blues Busters bring us a special opportunity for youth to build their own bird house and feed our feathered friends during the cold months. Winter Blues Busters programs are happening weekly at KHCPL Main in hopes of brightening the dark days of winter. Learn more about this program by visiting the KHCPL Website.

      Fun for the whole family

      The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on its winter schedule with open hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) programs and activities, including creature features throughout the year. If you’ve never visited, it’s a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants, and insects. In addition to preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    • Girls Who Code Book Club at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Main Branch

      For Girls in Grades 3-5

      Girls interested in technology and coding can join the Girls Who Code Book Club at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. The international organization connects youth with opportunities to explore coding in a supportive environment. The club meets monthly and welcomes new members with a free book, T-shirt, notebook, pen, and sticker. Participants read Learn to Code and Change the World by Reshma Saujani and complete a coding activity. For more details on this program, visit the KHCPL website.

    • Open Play at the Very Early Childhood Education Center

      Recommended for children ages 0-5  for kindergarten readiness

      The Very Early Childhood Education Center, the ultimate play space for preschoolers, offers open play hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week.  On Thursdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Rhum Academy of Music hosts a special music program for kids at the center. This free, public resource center provides many opportunities for play and learning. The play space includes toys, structures that inspire imaginative play, and hands-on learning activities that encourage building and engineering.     • Ninja Warrior Night at Kokomo Flipsters | 4:30 or 5:30 p.m.

      For youth ages 4-12

      The first three Friday nights of each month (provided it's not a holiday weekend), youth are welcome to register for the American Ninja Warrior Night camps for just $15 per ninja. Two classes are offered, starting at 4:30 or 5:30 p.m., both lasting 55 minutes. Ninjas will train on the special ninja course located inside the Flipsters gym and practice martial arts, tumbling, and more.       Here's your chance to enjoy a special Valentine’s Day event with Wrangler and Friends! Nothing says Valentine’s Day more than spaghetti on the farm. Visit with Wrangler and his friends on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Your children will enjoy dinner, crafts, and the opportunity to create a Valentine’s box!     • Play Pinball at Scanlines Arcade | 3 to 10 p.m.

      Fun for all ages
      Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade is located just off Dixon Road and is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for a ton of fun. The arcade has many pinball games, but also some classic and new arcade games made to test your skills.
