The Kokomo Post Kids: Weekly Fun Calendar


It’s easy to say that Kokomo is so boring when you don’t know what’s going on in town. Even our kids love telling us how dull life can get when your days all look the same. We’re here with a new weekly fun calendar, hoping to encourage you and your family to try something new and experience more of what Kokomo has to offer. Take a look and tell them we sent you!


  • Monday, Dec. 4, 2023

    • Grinch Candy Cane Hunt at KHCPL Russiaville | 10-10:30 a.m.
      315 Mesa Drive, Russiaville
      Designed for ages 2 and up

      Join the staff at KHCPL Russiaville for an extra special story-time experience. There will be a craft and an exciting candy cane hunt. Santa and his elves hid candy canes all over the library, but the Grinch wants to turn them all green! Check out the KHCPL Website or Facebook page for more information.

      Recommended Ages 0-8

      Did you know that your “play pass” or fee to play at Sweet Peas allows you to play all day? You can stop by to play in the morning, go home, eat lunch, take a nap, and come back for more. On select Tuesdays, Sweet Peas hosts Circle Time at 10 a.m. where children complete a fun interactive craft and have storytime. For more details or updates check out the Sweet Peas Facebook page.       Did you know that matinee shows before 4 p.m. at our AMC Kokomo are all 30 percent off regular ticket prices? This is another great way to spend a free weeknight. The adults can enjoy their choice of movies this week but some options for families include Disney’s new animated movie “Wish” and DreamWorks “Trolls Band Together” for our PG viewers, and “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” and “The Marvels” for our PG-13 viewing audience.     • Lights in the Air Park at Grissom Air Museum | 4:30-9 p.m.
      1002 W Hoosier Blvd., Peru

      Visit the Grissom Air Museum in its special glow for the holiday season. The indoor museum will be open and you can view the outdoor light display in the airpark. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for children age 6-11. All children younger than 5 are free. There will be a special take-home craft for children as well. This will be a new and fun experience for the whole family. If you miss it this week, the event continues each Thursday-Sunday in December (except for Dec. 24 and 25, when it is closed).     • Christmas at the Seiberling Mansion | 1-4 p.m.
      1200 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo

      Start a new family tradition in support of the Howard County Historical Society by touring the beautiful Seiberling Mansion while it’s decorated for Christmas. Tickets are available online or at the door for $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children under the age of 5 are free. December 8th is a sponsored night so tickets aren’t required.   • Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023

    • Breakfast with Reindeer | 9-11 a.m.

      This annual opportunity to have breakfast with some special local reindeer is happening Saturday Dec. 9 and 16 for kids ages 2-11. Participants will make a snowglobe, take pictures with Wrangler the reindeer, enjoy reindeer rides and more! Most of the event will be held in the party room indoors. Registration is required and more information can be found on the Wrangler and Friends website and Facebook page.

    • Go Ice Skating at The Frozen Sandlot at Kokomo Municipal Stadium

      Fun for the whole family!

      As the temperatures drop and fall turns to winter we can get excited to practice some of our favorite holiday traditions like going Ice Skating. Now in its sixth year, the Frozen Sandlot is made possible by the partnership between Bridges Outreach and the City of Kokomo. Thanks to the City of Kokomo, all of the proceeds will benefit Bridges Outreach and youth in our community.
