Fun for the whole family
Did you know that Matinee shows before 4 p.m. at our AMC Kokomo are all 30 percent off the regular ticket prices? You can save a little money while having some fun! The adults can enjoy their choice of movies this week but some options for families include “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Unsung Hero” for our PG viewers and “Ghostbusters; Frozen Empire,” and “Arthur The King” for our PG-13 audience. The Discovery Center at Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Main is available to offer kids aged 8-13 as a fun after-school activity and chance to make friends and explore STEM related activities. This week youth will have the opportunity to play with Osmo educational games and game pieces. The Discovery Center is open weekly and rotates through different activities. If you miss out this week be sure to check out the events tab on the KHCPL website and look for the orange and blue lightbulb.

Share the nostalgia of playing at the arcade with your family this week. Scanlines Arcade has a new location just off of Dixon Rd. and is open from 3-10 p.m. on Wednesdays for a ton of fun. On Wednesdays pinball games are set to only $0.50 per game! They have many pinball games, but also some classic and new arcade games made to test your skills. Young Padawans are welcome to join the staff at KHCPL Main and build DIY Droids with your friends. You’ll have your very own Droid Depot and use the Force as you get creative making upcycled droids and practicing your STEM Skills. Storytime and Pottery Painting at Fired Arts Studio | 11-12:30 p.m.

This is a NEW workshop where artists ages 3 and up are welcome to express themselves by decorating a beautiful piece of pottery at Fired Arts Studio with a parent or guardian. The workshop will begin with a story read aloud and then transitions to a fun themed project related to the story. A reservation is required because seating is limited. After celebrating their season opening last weekend, we are so excited to see the signs of spring and summer weather so we can play at City of Firsts Adventure Park. There’s fun and competition for the whole family whether you want to take a swing at the batting cages, score on your favorite mini-golf course, or race to the finish line on the go-karts. Fun for the Whole Family
The Kirkendall Nature Center is currently operating on their winter schedule with open hours on Tuesday and Thursday during the week and on Saturday and Sunday.The nature center is home to many Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department (KPRD) activities including creature features throughout the summer months. If you’ve never visited the nature center, it is a great place to learn more about local wildlife species, plants and insects. In addition to the preserved and live animals, the nature center has games, books, and other hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.
