The Local Buzz - April 30-May 2
The month of May has sneaked up on us once again! That means as we approach summer break, there are going to be more and more events popping up around Kokomo. Don’t let this awesome weather go to waste this weekend. Check out these local events!
Girls Night Out Kokomo
Attention, ladies! Clear your calendar for Friday night and send your gal pals a text right now! If you like choreographed dancing, eye candy and pets, this is an event you don’t want to miss out on. This pet food drive and fundraiser will benefit the Kokomo Humane Society, so there’s no excuse not to go! This event is located at The Kokomo Country Palace, and tickets range in price from $20-$45 and are available for purchase here.
Opening Day at the Kokomo Farmers' Market
It’s officially everyone’s favorite time of the year, the Kokomo Farmers Market has returned! Join more than 35 farmers, bakers and makers Saturday morning and help them celebrate the 20th season of providing local baked goods, produce and crafts to Kokomo! The market is located on the corner of Mulberry and Washington streets, so bring your produce bags and your appetite, and head to downtown Kokomo!
Bluegrass & BBQ
Kick off your Saturday with live local music and delicious barbecue from The Local BBQ food truck! The fun starts at The Legacy Barn in Kokomo at 1 p.m., with music from some of Kokomo’s best bands, Branded Bluegrass, Sami Soutar and Josh Mast! Bring your friends and family, a lawn chair or a blanket, and sit back and enjoy a relaxing Saturday. The Coterie will be slinging some epic cocktails, and The Local BBQ will be serving all the brisket and ribs you can eat. Vegetarian options and desserts will also be available.
Pete Henry: Live at The Coterie!
Peter Henry, a solo singer and instrumentalist, has been playing music since 9 years old. He has a master’s degree in fine arts and is most known for his talent on the guitar in many styles. Help us give a warm welcome to Peter as he makes an appearance at The Coterie at 9 p.m. Saturday! There will be a $5 cover for this 21 and older event.
