This week’s Kokomo Post Sports Game of the Week featured an even matchup between Northfield and Eastern. Both teams entered the game coming off losses and were eager to shake off their previous setbacks. In the end, Northfield walked away with a 41-34 win.
The contest was competitive from start to finish. Both teams struggled early, and although Eastern held a narrow lead in the final two minutes of the first quarter, Northfield finished the period with a 9-6 advantage. Over the next three quarters, Eastern fought an uphill battle.
The Comets were unable to slow down Northfield’s Carter Rogers, whose patient play allowed the Norsemen to control the game.
Eastern managed to cut its deficit in the final 30 seconds, but it was not enough. Northfield knocked down several free throws at the end to secure the victory.
