This week’s Kokomo Post Sports Game of the Week featured a record-setting performance by your Kokomo BobKats.
The BobKats entered the game coming off their first loss of the season the night before. That defeat added fuel to their fire as they bulldozed the Memphis Lions, 156-72.
While the final score was lopsided, the first quarter told a different story. The Lions took advantage of Kokomo’s lack of energy and early turnovers to keep the game close. Still, the BobKats led 29-18 at the end of the first.
The next three quarters reflected the high-level play fans have come to expect from Kokomo. The message between the first and second quarters was simple: energy. Once the BobKats ramped up the intensity, there was nothing the Lions could do to keep pace.
Every BobKats player shot over 50% from the field, while the team held Memphis to under 30%. It was Kokomo’s largest margin of victory this season and featured several highlight-reel plays that brought fans to their feet.
The BobKats return to the court Sunday afternoon for their first road game of the season against Lake County.
