How to do Spring Right in Kokomo

By BREE BRAGG

The Kokomo Post Staff

Another month, another blog about my favorite things to do and enjoy around Kokomo. Spring is just around the corner, and I don’t know about you but I’ve been dreaming about warmer days and sunny weather activities. With each changing month there are new things happening here in the ’Mo – or old things that are just more enjoyable on sunny days! Making the very top of my list, you ask?

Patios

Maybe you didn’t see that one coming, but one of my most favorite things ever is finding a vibey spot in town to enjoy a great meal or drink outdoors. Here are my top picks:

Marble The Steakhouse

Marble is conveniently located on the most charming street of the city, Buckeye Street, and is the only location in Kokomo where you can enjoy outdoor luxury dining OR even brunch.

Sun King Brewery is located on – you guessed it – Buckeye Street, and is, in my opinion, the best patio in the ’Mo because it’s equipped with cornhole, table tennis and other fun games! Not to mention you can enjoy the great outdoor while sipping on some of the best brews in town.

Foxes Trail

The Foxes Trail patio is, hands down, the best place to be during the summer months! Not only is it located in beautiful downtown Kokomo with a view of the Wildcat Creek, but the bike trail and the big beautiful bridge lights up at night, making for a perfect view. The patio seating also doubles as the best seat in the house during the Riverwalk Concert Series. You can enjoy local live music and enjoy a nice meal or, my personal favorite, the Long Island iced tea slushies!

Pizza Co. is a newer business to town but quickly became a favorite not just amongst the staff here at The Post but also my friend and family group. In fact, it’s a no-brainer when it comes to a family outing day because it’s conveniently located near the biking trail and there’s a park just across the street! A bike ride to Pizza Co., dinner on the patio and play time at the park afterwards makes for a day well spent!

Skate Parks

Skate parks in Kokomo seem to be a hot spot during the warmer months and luckily there are two great ones to enjoy! The Kokomo Pipeline skatepark, located near Jackson Morrow Park, features a bowl and pipeline, and has been a Kokomo staple for skateboarders, bikers and skaters. Now with the addition of the Foster Park Skate Park, there are great options on both ends of town!

Disc golf

Have you ever been disc golfing before? I have to admit this is something that’s typically not up my alley, but it’s one of my family’s favorite activities during warmer months. And, I have to admit there are some pretty scenic and nice locations to disc golf in Kokomo even if you are like me and just a bystander. Highland park offers a full disc golf course as well has Crossroads Church, which is open to the public.
