Self-Pour Tap Room Opens in Tipton
The Tipton community is buzzing as it welcomes The Mad Tap, a locally owned business that recently swung open its doors for a grand opening event.
Located at 134 E. Madison St. in Tipton, this new establishment has quickly become a focal point in the heart of the town. The building, a longstanding part of the Tipton community, stands proudly across from the library and has undergone a restoration, restoring it to its former beauty.
Owners Mindy Mason and Andrea Richter said they have long loved the self-pour beer wall concept and wanted to offer a fun and unique, family-friendly experience.
“We both visited a self-pour beer wall and loved the concept. We thought it would be a great addition to Tipton and would attract folks from all around,” said Mason.
Boasting 20 rotating draft beers, ciders, seltzers, and sours on tap through a self-pour beer wall, the establishment caters to a diverse range of tastes. Beyond the massive beer selection, patrons can also enjoy a full cocktail bar featuring an array of signature cocktails and wines, plus a variety of smoked meats, traditional barbecue sides, appetizers, and even a kids’ menu.
During the winter, The Mad Tap offers indoor dining with limited seating, accommodating around 50 patrons at a time. As warmer weather approaches, Mason said, the venue plans to expand its seating outdoors, offering additional activities and live music to enhance the overall experience.
