“This event brings overdose awareness to the forefront, while also allowing a way to honor loved ones lost,” said Shannon Querry, manager of marketing & community development at Turning Point System of Care.

In addition to the evening’s tribute, Overdose Awareness Night will feature more than 40 vendors, offering valuable information about the services available within the community. These resources are essential for those struggling with addiction or mental health challenges, as well as for family members and friends seeking support.

As the evening draws to a close, Querry said attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a poignant photo opportunity. In a collective moment of silence, community members will hold up the names of their lost loved ones along with a flower, creating a powerful visual tribute to those who have passed.

Querry said the event is not only about raising awareness and honoring those lost but also about fostering a sense of community and resilience in the face of grief. By coming together, the Kokomo community can show support for those affected by overdose and take steps toward prevention and recovery.
