An exciting varsity baseball showdown unfolded Tuesday as Eastern took down North Miami 14-4 at Eastern's home ground.

Eastern secured an early lead with a 2-0 advantage in the first inning, and maintained their grip on the game with two more runs in the third inning. However, it was in the fourth inning that Eastern unleashed some offensive firepower, amassing eight runs to extend their lead significantly.

Pitching from Eastern’s Colt Snyder was instrumental in their victory. Snyder pitched for five innings, allowing only four runs, all unearned, while conceding three hits. With three walks and six strikeouts, Snyder showcased control and skill on the mound. Perry Kochensparger also contributed to the team's success, pitching a flawless inning with no runs, hits, or walks, and striking out two opposing batters.

Eastern's hitting lineup saw several players making noteworthy contributions. Reid Keisling went 3-3 at the plate, scoring two runs, and driving in a run. Cayden Calloway displayed his power with a double, while also scoring two runs and collecting two RBIs. Ethan Acord went 1-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Gabe Monize contributed with a hit, scoring a run, and driving in a run, while also stealing two bases. Corbin Snyder rounded out the offensive display, going 1-3, scoring two runs, and driving in a run.

Eastern now boasts a record of 21-7. The next challenge for the team lies in the Sectional Semi-Finals against Alexandria, scheduled to take place on Saturday at CFD Investment Stadium at Highland Park in Kokomo. The action is set to kick off at 1:30 p.m.
