Moving here from New York has been an adventure. The aspect I miss the most is the food. There are just some things you can’t get in the Midwest — or so I thought. Today I share with you my findings after two years of research. This blog was created to show that no matter where you go, there is good food. You just need to know where to look!

Pizza - Oscar’s Pizza

As it stands, Oscar’s Pizza is by far the closest I think you can get to that classic New York slice.

Black & White Cookie - Gordon Food Service

After two long years of searching, I have found the coveted and elusive black and white cookie. There is just something about little cakes covered in chocolate that make the day just a bit better!

Cannoli - J. Edwards Gourmet

A staple in New York and Italian culture. The cannoli is the perfect mix of crunch and sweet that can send your taste buds on a joyride!

NY Strip Steak - Marble The Steakhouse

What can be said about a good steak? A tender New York strip was the easiest comfort food to find, but it is just as important as everything else! A good cut of steak can really make a night to remember.

Classic New York Hot Dog - Barker’s B&K

Available on every corner, this New York staple is known as a simple yet prestigious delight. The midwest is filled with grilled hot dogs, but there is not better than a boiled hot dog treated with love.
