Area schools start again in just a few short weeks! Here’s a list of resources that may make your transition into the new school year a little bit smoother.
Back to School Haircuts with Main Street Beauty & Barber
A new salon and barbershop in Kokomo want to help you get fresh in time for school with boys’ haircuts for just $10! Click here to book online, or call or text 765-431-9341 to schedule an appointment.*
When: Tuesday, July 26 to Friday, July 29
Where: Main Street Beauty & Barber 1435 S Main St. Kokomo

Grace Baptist Church Pack the Backpack
While supplies last, Grace Baptist Church in Kokomo is giving away supplies to get you ready for the school year! Children must be present at this event to receive supplies.
When: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30
Where: 2818 S. Park Rd. Kokomo
Back to School Giveaway at Brown’s Beauty Bar
Hoopers Unleashed and Brown’s Beauty Bar are teaming up to help start the school year off on the right foot! Free haircuts* and supplies will be available for grades K through 12.
When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30
Where: Brown’s Beauty Bar, 110 W. Jefferson St. Kokomo
*Due to time restraints, haircuts will only be available for boys.
Mush Millz 3rd Annual Back to School Giveaway
Everything you need for back to school is happening in one spot! There will be barbers available for basic haircuts, as well as some amazing hairstylists donating their time to style the hair of 11 lucky girls. You can also enjoy live music, food, and a bounce house at this community event.
When: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 31
Where: Level 38 Lodge, 315 E. Havens St. Kokomo
Kickball with the Law
Wrap up summer with a fun game of kickball with the Kokomo Police Department! There will also be ice cream, food, and free school supplies sponsored by the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, and the Kokomo Howard County Public Library.
When: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug 1
