Hey Kokomo! You may think you’ve done it all in Kokomo but we’re not so sure. Have you visited our city’s free nature center?

The Kirkendall Nature Center is located in Jackson Morrow Park. It’s situated on a pretty hill and it boasts a display of preserved animals native to Howard County. For young children, it’s almost like a trip to the zoo! There are over 15 preserved animals as well as many other displays and aquariums that are housed inside the center.

The Nature Center is also right inside the walk path - an easy circular paved path that takes you on a 1.3-mile loop that winds through wooded and flat parts of Jackson Morrow Park. Located at 4200 S. Park Road on the south side of the city, the trail and the nature center feel far away while being conveniently located. (And REALLY close to a Kokomo Post staff favorite, Cone Palace😉.)

For more information, check out the City of Kokomo website here.

So what do you think, Kokomo? Have you been to the nature center? Let us know in the comments below!
