Kokomo Summer KidVentures: Meridian Park

Summer vacation is here, and it won’t last long. We want you to explore Kokomo and lead you on some fun and simple local adventures with your family each week. Join us each week for a new Summer KidVenture. For our next KidVenture, we played at Meridian Park!

Meridian Park is located at 500 E. Harrison St. near downtown. The park reopened in 2018, Meridian Park sits at the home of the old Meridian Elementary School. It has a full-size basketball court, a beautiful outdoor roofed picnic shelter and a playground. Parking is available along the streets. The park is also fenced in which makes me worry a little less about my kids or their toys going into the street. The playground has a playset for school aged kids with slides and many ways to climb. It has big kid swings and also two bucket seat swings with harnesses. We had the most fun on the Global Motion rotating playground net climber you see in the video. Meridian park would be a great place for a small gathering or outdoor party for kids and adults.

We hope you’ll visit Meridian Park this summer. If you’ve been there before, what’s your favorite part of the park? Join us next week for another Summer KidVenture.
