The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - Oct. 22

Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:

Breakfast Taco Bowl from Missy’s Family Restaurant

You may already know we are fans of Missy’s - their menu is one of the biggest in Kokomo, which we view as a challenge to try each and every dish they offer. This week’s order knocked it out of the park and thus became a pick of the week. It’s some of our favorite breakfast flavors fused with some of our favorite lunch flavors. The breakfast taco bowl is a crispy taco shell stuffed with taco meat, peppers, onions, tomatoes, diced potatoes, cheese, and eggs. Delish!

Graphic Tees from Midwest Made

Our second pick all started with an office conversation about corn casserole. That’s right. While discussing superior side dishes, we learned that some of our beloved dishes are not nationally known. This evoked some serious Hoosier pride. Someone said, “that’s too bad because Midwest is best” and that statement reminded me about an adorable line of graphic tees I’ve had my eye on from locally-owned online boutique, Midwest Made. Take it or leave it, but my advice is to layer this under a shacket or cardigan, pull on your favorite leggings, treat yo’ self to a PSL and live your best life… your midwest is best life.

Beef Pho from Pho Nguyen

The final pick is the well-done flank beef noodle soup from Pho Nguyen. If you haven’t tried this Vietnamese soup yet, please change that as soon as possible. It is a savory homemade broth, served piping hot. Then, it’s up to you to add in the elements of the soup (fresh basil, noodles, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and limes) to your liking. Everything besides the meat and noodles is served on the side so you can make it your own.

What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
