Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:

Smashing Pumpkin Frappe at Black Wax Cafe

Named after the iconic 90’s band, this seasonal drink is one to add to your list. It’s creamy, cinnamony, pumpkiny, and everything thing we want for a fall afternoon full of browsing the selection of records and antiques.

Fried Pickles from Julianno’s

You can never go wrong when it comes to ordering fried pickles but these landed as a pick of the week for two reasons. 1. They’re pickle spears, not pickle chips. I can’t explain why, but for an unknown reason, that elevates the fact that they’re simply friend pickles. 2. They’re hand-breaded and fried in that way where the inside still has some bite to it while the outside is crispy and delicious. Dip these in some ranch and get in touch with your Hoosier roots.

Calzones from Pizza Co.

As if we didn’t love Pizza Co. enough. We tried the calzones recently and here’s the issue: it’s not an impossible decision to choose between their signature Neopolitan pizza and their delicious calzones. Here’s what you do - order both. Since I’m forcing myself to pick one, the white calzone is the choice I’m going with. It’s a little garlicky and full of creamy ricotta, encased with their pizza dough…. drool worthy.

What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
