The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - Oct. 8
Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:
Italian Beef Sandwiches from The Middle of Nowhere
There was a time you’d have to get in the car and take a three-hour road trip to the northwest to get an authentic Chicago-style Italian Beef sandwich. Those days are over, my friends. Now, you head about 10 minutes east to The Middle of Nowhere. Truly, it’s at SR 19 and 26 in the middle of nowhere… but this new-to-the-scene food truck is creating truly scrumptious Chicago-style food. And in case you haven’t met me yet, please trust that I’m a reliable source on this myself. I’m a kid from the suburbs of Chicago myself!
Pure Nostalgia from The Popcorn Cafe
For the elder millennials in the office, these caramel apple pops are just as much a part of fall as the iconic PSL. They bring us back to childhood in approximately 5 seconds after opening. We were thrilled to find them at The Popcorn Cafe along with hundreds of other tasty fall treats. Homemade fudge, a huge variety of flavored popcorn and specialty candy options that will bring you back to your childhood - whether you’re a boomer, Gen X, millennial or Gen Z.
Charity Throwdown
How about some friendly competition for a good cause?
For some, fall means pumpkin spice but for others like Drew from The Kokomo Post and Jessica from Z92.5, it means football season! This Saturday, Michigan and Nebraska go head to head and so do Drew and Jessica to see which team will take the W! But what about the team that takes the L? Well, They will be paying up to the winner’s charity of choice!
Drew's charity of choice- Kokomo Urban Outreach
Jessica's charity of choice- United Way serving Howard & Tipton Counties
So who do you think is going to take the win this weekend? Let's hear it in the comment section below.
What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
