The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - June 24

Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks, where our staffers pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:

Sweet Corn Soufflé from Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery

If you live in Kokomo, you know we can’t get our hands on true Indiana sweet corn until August at the earliest.
Our first pick this week is a hidden gem on Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery’s menu. The Sweet Corn Soufflé is one of the side options and it helps satisfy a sweet corn craving any time of year.

Playground at Northwest Park

Our second pick this week is the playground at Northwest Park. This playground is nostalgic and often overlooked. Northwest Park is the home of many local recreational softball leagues, but this playground is nestled in the corner of the park behind the picnic pavilion. It is the perfect retreat away from the ball diamonds for restless children who need to burn energy. One word of warning: those old-school metal slides can cause serious burns on a hot day. Slide with caution.

Koko-Go Bike Share

The final pick this week is one of our favorite amenities from the City of Kokomo.
Sure, other cities have bike-share services. But here in Kokomo, our bike rental is 100 percent free!
Located in downtown near Foxes Trail and the dog park, the Koko-Go facility is where you’ll check out your free bike (with an ID and a credit or debit card on file) and explore our city. Our suggestion? Plan a night with family or friends and enjoy a progressive dinner through Kokomo. Stop at a few downtown restaurants and to enjoy some local eats — and finish your evening with a cold drink or sweet treat.

What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
