The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - June 18
Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:
Orange Dreamscicle Frappe from Black Wax Cafe
Fresh, tangy, creamy and that perfect Orange Dreamscicle taste you remember from childhood. That’s this frappe from Black Wax Cafe.
It’s so perfectly beautiful that you might not want to dive in, but you won’t regret it once you taste it. It’s the perfect summer drink.
Crawfish Etouffee from Poulard’s Cajun Cuisine
We fell in love with the food from Poulard’s Cajun Cuisine when we featured them on The Kokomo Post Tries a while back. Here’s the thing: we’ve been back so, so many times, and there’s nothing on the menu that disappoints.
The crawfish etouffee has the perfect amount of in its rich sauce, studded with crawfish, and served atop a fluffy bed of rice.
Fried Green Tomatoes from Lucky Lemon Bakery
The fried green tomatoes at Lucky Lemon Bakery were a revelation: perfectly crisp and served up with a sweet, spicy pepper jelly and a pillowy almond “cheeze,” all on top of a seasoned bed of greens.
These were a special menu item, but we cannot stress enough how delightful they were. If they are on the menu again, RUN to get them. Do not walk. Run. They are that good.
What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
