The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - July 23
Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:
Wine Slushie from Walt & Shirley’s Bar & Grill
Calling all wine lovers! There’s no need to travel out of town to enjoy a wine night with your friends. Walt & Shirley’s Bar & Grill has a rotating variety of wine slushie flavors to enjoy.
Make sure you sip responsibly because these treats pack a punch!
If slushies aren’t your thing, there are other options. Walt & Shirley’s has a large selection of cold beer and specialty wines that owner, Breshonna Fletcher, blends at the winery herself.
Frozen Long Island from The Foxes Trail
It’s the week of the slushie. And for good reason.
The Foxes Trail, located right downtown Kokomo, serves this cocktail and it might be perfect. It’s boozy, it’s cold, it’s everything we want after a hot day in the sun.
What’s not to love about a long island? What’s not to love about a slushie? They’ve combined the two and now we have what’s in the running for the best summer drink in Kokomo! Perfect for an evening on their patio in our favorite city.
SUP YOGA with TraPoga
Our team recently tried out SUP YOGA at the Kokomo reservoir park and it was such a fun and unique experience.
It’s stand-up paddleboard yoga - you’re outside enjoying nature right here in Kokomo. An important note: you don’t have to be a seasoned yogi to enjoy this experience. In fact, those of us who tried it were either yoga beginners or had never done yoga at all!
Carmen Larson, who teaches the class, is welcoming and helpful. She guided us through the moves and encouraged us - no matter what level we were.
Namaste… above water.
What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
