The Kokomo Post Picks of the Week - August 13th
Hey, Kokomo! Welcome to our Kokomo Post Picks of the week where our staffers and interns pick the things they’re enjoying from all around our favorite city! In no particular order:
Crepes from Missy’s Family Restaurant
These aren’t just any crepes, these are banana pecan crepes. They’re stuffed with banana slices and pecans, then topped with caramel, more bananas, more pecans and whipped cream. We can confirm: this breakfast dish is as tasty as it looks.
Missy’s is located on Buckeye street downtown, and it has quickly become one of our favorite breakfast (and lunch!) spots.
Homemade Ice Cream from Sweet Retreat
There’s a new ice cream shop and town and we couldn’t be happier. Sweet Retreat Homemade Ice Cream & More is located in the plaza behind CVS on Dixon and Sycamore and they’re churning out some crazy delicious ice cream, gelato, and Italian ice flavors.
You can go to their cute shop and enjoy a scoop with your people, but why stop there? We got a pint to go and this homemade strawberry ice cream did not disappoint. And c’mon, the cow print pint? Adorbs.
Grand opening of Gabe’s Kokomo
Located in the old JC Penney space, Gabe’s Discount is the newest addition to the Kokomo shopping scene. Our team popped over there this week for research purposes only, of course. We were blown away by this massive new store. There is a huge selection of goods from home decor, to clothing, to furniture, to cleaning supplies. This may just become our go-to shopping spot. Their grand opening is this weekend, and it’s worth checking out!
What do you think Kokomo? We want to hear your picks of the week!
