Making dinner can really be a drag after a busy day, so some of our local business owners are offering something new that takes all of your labor out of making dinner. “Take and Bake” or to-go family dinners are being offered by pre-order and pickup from a few of our favorite local businesses as we all try to survive in the remainder of winter. Etta’s Gooey Goodies is well-known for sharing sweet treats but is now offering home-cooked single-serve or family-size entrees! You can pre-order entrees with the option to pick up from the shop in Greentown Tuesday through Friday evenings. They are offering up a new and interesting menu each week, but a few of the local favorites have been the King Ranch Chicken and Chicken & Dumplings. In addition to their usual lunch menu, soups and baked goods, Lucky Lemon is also offering the occasional opportunity to carry out or take-and-bake a family-sized dinner. When they are available, these options serve between two and four people — and they don’t last long. You can follow Lucky Lemon’s Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on these special menu items, but last month they offered stuffed manicotti in addition to their regular lunch menu and weekly soup specials. If you haven’t tried Lucky Lemon before, you should! It’s perfect for those looking for dairy-free, gluten-free, or vegan options that are delicious.

Now located on Markland Avenue, Mama Karen’s is becoming well known for offering wholesome home-cooked meals and sweet bakery treats. Mama Karen’s is offering family feasts in a full order size serving 10-15 people or a half order size serving 6-10 people. Their feast options include baked ziti, manicotti, alfredo bake, chicken fettuccine alfredo, philly cheesesteak, and mac-n-cheese. They’ve recently offered lasagna and garlic bread on special lasagna days where you can pre-order your feast sizes and pick up single serve sizes in store. Host a three-course meal at home with a quick order from PASTArrific. You can call or order from their catering and family size online ordering page on their website. The catering-sized entrees serve about 8-10 people and are available baked or unbaked. You can view all the options on their website, but your order can include appetizers, salads, sides, desserts, and/or an entree. A few of their family-sized entrees include lasagna, spaghetti, alfredo, chicken parmesan, and even some seafood options. Pre-order your meal in advance or place an order for dinner this evening (90-minute lead time required), either way it’ll be a good one.

The Radish Market & Cafe is now offering a weekly meal prep menu to help take the stress out of planning and making dinner for your family. You can find their previous meal prep menus on their facebook page or when you visit the shop. Each week their meal prep menu features their Take-and-Bake pot pies, and two other delicious options made to serve 4 or more people. You can make it a full meal by adding any choice of soup, salads, or a baguette for an additional cost. You’ll need to order your choices from the meal prep menu by Wednesday and schedule a pick-up time on Thursday or Friday of that week. Even if you aren’t feeding 4 or more people, it’s worth visiting The Radish Market & Cafe to check out their regular menu and grab-and-go options too.

Alongside their “So Good Candies,” pies, and other goodies, Tastefully Indiana is serving up chicken noodles with mashed potatoes and their million dollar spaghetti each week as a take-and-bake dinner. Be sure to check their menu for any additional options. These take-and-bake entrees are available in two sizes: small which feeds 2-3 people and large which feeds 4-5 people. If you’re extra hungry you can add a cheese ball or any of the other ready made items on the menu to your order too. You can call the shop or message them through their Facebook page to place an order and arrange a time for pick up.

You can order a family-style meal all week from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.mm. for pickup or delivery from Windmill Grill. These family-style offerings are available in servings of four or eight and includes the entree, a choice of potato, fresh baked rolls, a vegetable and a salad. They are currently offering meatloaf, BBQ pulled pork, lasagna, and chicken tenders. Potato options (or sides) include mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and steak fries. Then you have the choice between green beans or broccoli for your vegetable. Dessert options are available for an additional charge.
