Kokomo Bobkats Return for the 2025 Season
Organizers say high-energy basketball and local entertainment are coming your way again as the Kokomo Bobkats gear up for their fifth season, kicking off this March. As the team prepares for another thrilling season, there are some exciting changes on the horizon. We caught up with Bobkats owner Mark Jansen and General Manager Sam Beckom to get the inside scoop.
Due to ongoing construction projects at Memorial Gym, the team will be switching things up this year. The Bobkats will play their home games at Kokomo High School’s Haworth Gym, a move that owner Mark Jansen said is a positive shift.
“I’m excited about our move to Kokomo High School’s Haworth Gym for our home games. This will create a tighter and louder feel, which will bring even more excitement for all!” said Jansen.
If you’re concerned about missing the nostalgic vibes of Memorial Gym, GM Sam Beckom said there may still be opportunities for a few games to be held at Memorial this year, depending on construction updates.
What to Expect This Season
While the location may be different, Jansen and Beckom say the heart of the Bobkats’ season remains the same. Fans can still enjoy all their favorite aspects of game days, including:
The Bobkats Drumline, keeping the energy alive
DJ Jansen spinning the best beats
The Bobkats Dancers, wowing the crowd
Half-time entertainment
Bobby the Bobkat, the team’s beloved mascot
Local emcee (and Kokomo Post Content Creator) Bree Bragg, returning for her fifth season with the team
Coach Chandler Levingston, determined to lead the Bobkats to victory this year
“Chandler has been working hard recruiting new talent, but we’re also excited to announce that 10 previous Bobkats players are planning to return to training camp in February,” Beckom said.
Beckom also said there is a potential return of former head coach and five-time NBA champion Cliff Levingston. Discussions are underway for Levingston to make some potential guest appearances as an assistant coach alongside his son, Chandler, if his schedule allows.
