Kokomo Wins NCC Title On The Road Against Anderson: Photo Gallery

If you are a Wildkat fan, the first 90 seconds of Friday night’s game had your stomach in knots as you watched Kokomo quickly go down 10-0 against a fast, strong, and talented Anderson team in front of a loud sold-out crowd on the road. However, after a Kokomo timeout, that 10-0 run would be followed up by a 16-5 run from the Wildkats to end the first quarter. After that, the Kats never looked back.

Kokomo would go on to have the lead after every quarter in the game and then pull away in the 4th quarter to get the 69-52 win. The Kats improve to 18-4 overall and 9-0 in NCC play. This win also secured the NCC Championship for the Kats, their first in a decade.

Flory Bidunga finished the game with 32 points, 18 of which came from dunks, and 14 rebounds. Shayne Spear, after having a slower first half, had a strong 9 points in the 3rd quarter to finish with 12 points and 8 total assists. Most of those assists were beautifully tossed alley-oops to Bidunga. Another Kat standout last night was Karson Rogers. Rogers finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds. I’m not sure what has been in his Gatorade recently, but Rogers has stepped in a big way in the last few games. He has a whole new swagger to him following his first in-game dunk at Memorial last weekend. So much so that Kokomo Head Coach, John Peckinpaugh, walked onto the court to give the Kat a high-five during the game to show how proud he was of his player.

The Kats will finish their regular season next Friday at Huntington North before they go on to play Sectionals. Check out some of our photos from last night’s game below.
