Grand Slam Brings Live Pro Wrestling Experience to Municipal Stadium
This Saturday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m., the iconic downtown Kokomo Municipal Stadium will transform from a baseball haven into a roaring coliseum of wrestling entertainment. The first-ever Grand Slam Wrestling Match promises a night of high-flying action and intense live wrestling that fans of all ages won’t want to miss.

This event is the culmination of years of planning and passion from childhood friends Chris Owens, Nick Kranz and Nathan Martin. The trio, who have shared a love of wrestling since the '90s, are bringing their dream to life in their hometown.
“It's something we've wanted to do for a while," said Owens, a seasoned wrestler who has been on TV and faced off with WWF Hall of Famers. “We grew up here and it's incredible to finally bring a wrestling event of this scale to Kokomo.”
Nick Kranz reminisced about their long-standing friendship as well.
“We’ve known each other for 25 years. Back in the ’90s, we all wanted to be wrestlers. Nathan had the ultimate wrestling figure collection. We stayed friends throughout this time, and now I have an 8-year-old son who loves wrestling too.” he said. “We’re trying to put ourselves in the seats, bringing that same excitement we had as kids.”

The event promises a family-friendly environment, making it the perfect outing for fans of all ages. Food vendors will offer a variety of classic stadium fare, from hot dogs and nachos to locally crafted beers, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The roster includes notable wrestlers such as Isiah Moore, Anthony Toatele, Karter Cauffman, Shawna Reed, Elijah Eros, Don’t Die Miles, Brodie Bodkins, Erik Surge, Anthony Lee, Suge D, Carl Randers, Backus, Jake Omen, Jeremy Hadley, and Chris Owens himself. Each match will showcase talent and athleticism, leaving the audience in awe.
Beyond the thrilling matches, Krantz said, the Grand Slam Wrestling Match will serve as a community gathering, bringing together residents of Kokomo and surrounding areas. It's more than just an evening of entertainment; it's a celebration of community spirit and a testament to the versatility of the Kokomo Municipal Stadium.
As the date approaches, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be a night of unforgettable moments.
“This is for kids who are going to grow up and wrestle, for them to remember something fun and different that Kokomo’s never seen,” said Kranz. “So far, this has been an awesome experience, and it’s going to be so much fun. Just to do something cool for the city, this is such an awesome stadium it needs to be shown off.”
