Former Tease Building Houses New Business in Kokomo
The location of a former nightclub is getting new life as Tate Block Vintage & Antiques is set to open its doors in the former Tease location at 107 E. Markland Ave., Kokomo.
Owners Morgan and Steve Jackson have curated a space they hope pays homage to the building’s historical significance and the legendary Tate block. With the old brick walls still holding stories of the past, they hope the store will become a perfect setting to connect with the community and reminisce about the building’s rich history which, once housed a multitude of things such as a hotel, carwash and nightclub.
“We are really excited to meet new people in the industry and fellow vintage and antique lovers. We have had such a great experience with local vintage and antique shop owners being positive and supportive of us opening a shop, and it has been really encouraging,” said Morgan Jackson.
Tate Block will offer an array of vintage and antique furniture and decor, plants, jewelry, books, records, vintage clothes, and much more. The owners say they have collaborations in the works to offer art classes, including stained glass workshops, and offer herbal and botanical remedy items.
The journey of Tate Block began with the Jacksons’ passion for treasure hunting. With their own collection overflowing, they said they saw the perfect opportunity to share their finds with the world. Tate Block Vintage & Antiques is not just a store; the pair say it’s a labor of love fueled by the desire to engage with like-minded individuals in the vintage and antique community.
The Jacksons’ dedication to their new space is evident when you walk through the doors offering a warm, inviting space that beckons customers to explore its hidden gems.
As they prepare for their soft opening, the anticipation of meeting new faces and sharing stories with fellow vintage enthusiasts fills them with excitement.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a curious newcomer, Tate Block promises an enriching experience, connecting the past with the present, and igniting a shared appreciation for all things vintage.
