Kokomo Kids Eat

Muffins from Moore’s Pie Shop
115 W. Elm St. Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 459-7536

There’s more than just pie being made at Moore’s Pie shop. They are now serving shepherd's pie, alongside their delicious pies, cookies, and muffins. We stopped by for a blueberry muffin this week as a breakfast treat before school and there were only crumbs left by the time I sat down to eat my breakfast. Our family loves anything blueberry, so these were a hit, and muffins are always a special treat for us. In addition to blueberry, they were also offering a pumpkin muffin flavor for all of those fall lovers out there. Stop in and grab some goodies from this Kokomo staple before the holidays.

Kokomo Kids Play:

Take a walk on the Wildcat Creek Walk of Excellence Trail

Map of Trail

The Walk of Excellence is one of our favorite walking/running paths in town. We especially love the art and the opportunity to see wildlife enjoying the creek nearby. The entire trail is 3.8 miles long, running east and west. This path reaches many Kokomo sites including the Downtown District, Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center, a few parks including Foster Park, the Kokomo Bike Share building, and Kokomo Municipal Stadium. You won't regret a late afternoon or early evening walk along this path in the fall, especially when the leaves show their colors.

Kokomo Kids Learn:

Teen Writers Group at KHCPL Main
220 N. Union St., Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 457-3242

Yes, we care and want our Kokomo teenagers to experience Kokomo too! If your teens are creative and enjoy writing, they should stop in and read with the Teen Writers Group at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library’s main location. The group is meant for writers in middle school and high school and meets from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the large group study. The next meeting is on Thursday, Oct. 19. During the meetings, youth are asked to share their work with other teen writers and they discuss them and share feedback. This is a great opportunity for our teens to be creative and meet new people.

What would your kids’ picks be? Leave us a comment below or on our social media pages so we can check them out!
