Chuck E. Cheese has added a spooky treat to the menu for the Halloween Boo-tacular. This big baked cookie comes to life with eyes, gummy worms, and gooey green slime, making it a seriously fun treat for the family to share. Our cookie lovers were most concerned about getting one of the eyeball candies on their piece but loved this spooky treat. Kids who visit the store in costume will get 500 free E-tickets any day during the Boo-tacular event, and every game is just one point for a limited time. Visit the Kokomo Chuck E. Cheese and remember what fun it is to play “where a kid can be a kid.”

Trick-or-Treat Safety with Sheriff Jerry Asher- Howard County Sheriff's Department
1800 W. Markland, Ave., Kokomo, IN 46901 | (765) 457-1105

Safety should be a priority for everyone during trick-or-treating. Halloween is a night many look forward to, with hopes of dressing up as a special character, having fun, and getting loads of candy. We asked Howard County Sheriff Jerry Asher to share some safety tips for everyone who will be out next Wednesday and Thursday for trick-or-treating.

Asher first recommended that parents and kids choose safe costumes that are fire-resistant and opt for nontoxic makeup instead of masks or large hats that may obscure vision. Testing makeup before wearing it and removing it before bed are the best ways to prevent skin or eye irritations. If children are allowed to stay out after dark, adding reflective tape to their costumes or having them carry glow sticks will make them more visible, especially when their costumes may be dark.

It’s a scary fact that children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car while trick-or-treating than at any other time of the year. Asher also recommended responsible adults accompany young children, and if older children go out on their own, families should make a plan, review a familiar route, and establish a curfew. This is also a great time to remind children that they should never enter a stranger’s home or car.

We can all make choices to create a safe and fun Halloween in Kokomo this year.
