Kokomo Post Kids Eat, Play, Learn: Nov 2
Hey Kokomo! It’s that time of the week again. Our staff with kids are happy to share a few of the places their kids like to eat, play, and learn in and around Howard County. Check out this week’s picks for yourself!
Kokomo Kids Eat
Freeze Dried Original Skittles from The Good Kind
Available to purchase at The Radish Market & Cafe
115 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 210-8235
My kids were definitely thinking about candy this month with all of the Halloween activities happening. After an appointment downtown, we stopped into The Radish to get a treat and the boys instantly spotted these skittles. I warned them that they weren’t normal Skittles, but they insisted and were very excited to try them. After sampling some in the car on the way home they were asking for more. I’m confident they would have all been eaten in the 15 minutes it takes us to return home from downtown had I not limited their Skittle intake. If you haven’t tried these before, the flavor remains as sweet and fruity as usual with an interesting crunch. Visit The Radish to get some for yourself or order directly from The Good Kind with many more options.
Kokomo Kids Play

Has your family visited Highland Park lately? The playground has had a huge new playset added to it! You can learn about some of the details from our recent article Highland Park Gets Major Upgrade. This new playset has multiple large slides, rope climbing shapes that expand the multi-level structures, and many other fun features. Make time to visit Highland Park in all its fall beauty before winter arrives.

There are so many valuable resources at your fingertips when you have a library card with the Kokomo Howard County Public Libraries! The library has newly announced FREE Access to the online preschool education program ABC Mouse. To access this, visit the children’s databases on the KHCPL Website, click on ABC Mouse access resource, and log in using your library card number and PIN or password. This program encourages reading and literacy while putting it into practice through age-appropriate activities like songs, puzzles, and games. My boys love using ABC mouse and earning tickets to buy things for their virtual fish tank and bedroom. ABC mouse is recommended for kids ages 2-8 and up to second grade.
