Strawberry Shortcake from the Strawberry Festival
Friday, Jun 7, 2024| Downtown Kokomo Courthouse Square
It’s one of the sweet tastes of Summer (or late Spring). The Strawberry Festival is an annual event held during June’s First Friday celebration downtown. The Courthouse Square is full of people, vendors, and the energy of summer fun and community. We’ve been lucky enough the last few years to purchase Strawberry Shortcakes and share them as a family during the festival. The desserts are $7 and a full helping of strawberries, shortcake from Moore’s Pie Shop, with Glover’s Ice Cream, and whipped cream on top. Grab extra napkins for the kids and extra cutlery if you choose to share, but this is a can’t miss community experience with your family in Kokomo. To learn more about the Strawberry festival, visit the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce Website.

Columbian Park Zoo | 1915 Scott St., Lafayette, IN 47904
http://www.columbianparkzoo.org/
Take a drive out West to Lafayette, Indiana and enjoy a small road trip with your family. We’re fans of visiting Columbian Park to play at the large playground, ride the train, and go to the zoo. Admission to the zoo is free for children ages two and under, and three dollars for everyone over three years old. We love participating in some of the special programs they offer at the zoo including Stroller Safari and Boo at the Zoo. The zoo offers a small community presentation of the big world of wildlife and provides an educational experience for all visitors. We highly recommend visiting the family farm and going for a ride around the park on the train before you leave. You can plan your visit and learn more about the Columbian Park Zoo by visiting their website.
