Kokomo Post Kids Eat, Play, Learn: June 6
Hey Kokomo! It’s that time of the week again. Our staff with kids are happy to share a few of the places their kids like to eat, play, and learn in and around Howard County. Check out this week’s picks for yourself!
Kokomo Kids Eat
Tortas from Mexican Grill
3704 S. Lafountain St., Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)864-0108
I brought home leftovers from Mexican Grill and tried a Torta for the first time. It was delicious and something I’d never thought my kids would enjoy. However, I was forced to share some bites of my regular-sized chicken torta, and now my kids love tortas. This was truly a hidden gem because we had never had it before and the restaurant offers many meat options. The regular size was plenty for me, and I can see my kids being satisfied with sharing one. They also offer a double size option for the extra hungry customers. You can dine in and carry out, but be sure to try a torta next time you’re in the mood for Mexican food.
Kokomo Kids Play
Play Date at the Very Early Childhood Education Center
1608 Kirk Row (enter through door 3), Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)252-3995
The kids are already struggling with missing friends from school now that summer vacation has begun. That means it’s time for some playdates. While that is much easier said than done, I’m excited to plan the best playdates where friends can meet us at the Very Early Childhood Education Center. The center is open from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week. Children will learn and play together in the center’s two rooms full of developmentally appropriate toys that encourage imaginative play and skill development for Kindergarten readiness.
Kokomo Kids Learn
Bike Safety Rodeo at KHCPL Russiaville
Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
315 Mesa Drive, Russiaville, IN 46979 | (765) 883-5112
Learning to ride a bike is a childhood right of passage. Once you learn, you’re a big kid and your bike can take you anywhere! The Russiaville Police Department and KHCPL Staff are excited to host another Bike Safety Rodeo to help families learn about bike safety and have some fun together. This is no ordinary safety lesson, alongside RPD (and Max the K-9 officer) there will be prizes, clowns, games, free food, and some special guests with Ainsely’s Angels. For more information, you can call the library or visit the KHCPL Website.
