Hey, Kokomo! We are introducing a new series around here called Eat, Play, Learn. Each week, our team will share a few of the places our kids are wild about. We hope you discover some new places along the way! Check out this week’s picks for yourself!
Kokomo Kids Eat:
The Kids Menu at Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery
4051 S. Lafountain St., Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)455-2739
Half Moon Restaurant & Brewery may have one of the most interesting menus for kids in town. From grilled cheese to chopped steak and even kid’s ribs, there is a wide variety of value and choices for our lil’ foodies here in Kokomo. Recently, our kids enjoyed the Brew Fingers and grilled cheese entrees with french fries for lunch with mom at Half Moon. Each kid’s menu meal comes with the choice of a regular menu side and (the best part) a freshly baked cookie. When we visit Half Moon we love to sample their barbecue sauce options and pick our favorite. If you haven’t tried their Carolina mustard, definitely ask about it with your next order of Brew Fingers or smoked meat choices.
Kokomo Kids Play:
Bob’s Bumpy Barrel Ride at the Howard County 4-H Fair
Howard County Fairgrounds
790 N. Meridian St., Greentown, IN 46936
(765)-628-3247
Thinking ahead to next week’s Howard County Fair (July 10-15), there is plenty of fun for the family out at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Greentown. A low-cost kid favorite at the fair is Bob’s Bumpy Barrel Ride. The start of the ride can usually be found near Pioneer Village. After paying to ride your child can pick a barrel and get ready to roll. Driven by Bob himself, the ride weaves around the Northeast corner of the fairgrounds and is truly a fun and bumpy ride. Check out the full Howard County 4-H Fair Schedule here.
Kokomo Kids Learn:
Pee Wee Class at Indiana Martial Arts and Fitness
411 Arnold Ct., Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)-236-0632
If you’re looking for a weekly year-round activity for your kids (or yourself) to get involved in, check out Indiana Pit Martial Arts and Fitness. The Pee Wee class (ages 3-6) focuses on improving a child’s basic listening and motor skills. Our oldest son attended a few classes and really enjoyed learning some basic martial arts moves in a group setting. At the end of each class, participants get a skill sticker to add to their belt. Check out their website and Facebook page for contact information and a weekly class schedule to plan for your family’s next classes.
