Kokomo Kids Eat:

Sundae Cups at Cone Palace

55 W. 300 South, Kokomo, IN 46902
(765)453-4470

Our family discovered something new that is the perfect to-go treat for a toddler in the back seat: sundae cups at Cone Palace! These are pre-made ice cream sundaes with varying flavors and add-ins conveniently stored in a plastic cup with a lid. You can pick one yourself from the cooler when you dine in or take out, but I’ve ordered them through the drive-through as well.

The lid is the real treasure for our family. I can transport a sundae cup without major melting and can confidently hand it to my backseat buddies with a spoon and feel just a little more confident there won't be a major spill in comparison to a cone or the regular serving bowl.

My kids like the ones with sprinkles or M&Ms, and if they don’t finish them, they freeze well. Get your kids a sundae cup for a quick and easy treat on the way home from a busy day of fun in Kokomo!

Kokomo Kids Play:

Tire Swings at our local Parks

Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department

1402 W. Defenbaugh St., Kokomo, IN 46902

The Tire Swing is nostalgic for me, but not because I had one or played on one often as a child, but I remember seeing kids swing on them in movies. However, now I’ve found that multiple of our local parks have tire swings. I'm reliving my childhood and playing with my kids often at Waterworks Park and Mohr Park here in Kokomo.

A tire swing allows for 360 degrees of swinging and the opportunity for both of my boys to swing together, which is always more fun. I even choose the tire swing as a place to rest when watching my kids play independently (and yes, I do swing on it too). As playground equipment advances throughout time, I hope there will always be space for a tire swing nearby.

Kokomo Kids Learn:

Little Learners at KHCPL South Branch

1755 E. Center Road, Kokomo, IN 46902

(765)236-0632

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library offers Growing Readers (or storytime) with flexible times and locations for families with children younger than 5 years old. Our family attends Little Learners at the South Branch on occasion, and it's always an engaging learning experience. Little Learners is offered on Wednesdays, from 10-10:45 a.m. in the Cardinal & Peony Room near the children’s area and is best suited for ages 3-5. Kids get to play with instruments, sing songs, listen to a story, count and more. It’s a great opportunity for your child to make new friends (July 9-15 was friendship week in the library’s summer reading program) and socialize while learning many other social skills with Miss Courtney. You can join us at Little Learners or check out the other Growing Readers events at other locations by searching Growing Readers on the Events page at KHCPL.org

What would your kids’ picks be? Leave us a comment below or on our social media pages so we can check them out!
