Kokomo Kids Eat

Stuffed Waffles from Doubting Thomas Coffee & Cafe
840 Daniel Drive, Kokomo, IN 46901
(765) 780-3094

After an early morning engagement, I stopped by Doubting Thomas to get a special breakfast treat for my family to try. The idea of “stuffed” waffles adds even more flavor to the classic breakfast choice. The cafe offers stuffed waffles from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and they can take up to 15 minutes to be made fresh for you. They offered them with fillings in both fruity or sweet flavors and savory flavors with meat and cheese. This time I opted to carry out but they also have a drive-through and dine-in area. We tried the blueberry flavor and one with bacon and cheddar cheese. It was a real treat to be able to stop in and check out the shop and Cross America. They have a selection of cute and thoughtful gifts and seating areas made for individuals, families, and small groups. You can learn more about Doubting Thomas Coffee & Cafe and Cross America on their website.

Kokomo Kids Play

Logansport Skate World and Fun Center
2625 E. Market St., Logansport, IN
(574)753-3131

The loss of our local roller skating center weighs heavy on our community, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ever skate again. We are lucky enough to have many skating centers nearby in Marion and Frankfort to name a few. However, we visited  Logansport Skate World and Fun Center this past week and had a blast. This location is full of nostalgia with more to offer than just skating. There are areas for groups and parties, a small selection of games (with a prize counter), concessions, and a bouncy house! We took advantage of their Wednesday night special where kids enter and skate for free from 6-8 p.m. This was my son’s first time skating and while he was a little nervous, we rented a buddy cart for an additional $3 to help him get started. There are also special events held at the fun center including Old School Skate, Glow Skate, and All Night Skate for you night owls. You can find more information about their special events and party rates on their Facebook page.

Teen Art Group at KHCPL Main
Thursdays from 4-5 p.m.
220 N Union St, Kokomo, IN 46901

No matter what they think, our teens are forever Kokomo Kids! Thursday evenings at KHCPL Main, materials and space are provided for teens to gather with their peers, socialize, and make art. The group meets in the Large Group Study area every Thursday from 4-5 PM. Being a part of a social or special interest group can create community and a sense of belonging for local teens. This group allows youth to meet new people and share their art skills with like-minded peers in a safe space. You may use provided materials or bring your own! Materials regularly provided include sketch paper, canvas paper, paints, and pencils. You can learn more by calling the library at 765-457-2342.
