Kokomo Kids Eat

Cookies from HoneyBee’s Farm at the Russiaville Farmer’s Market
Sunday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As fall approaches some of our favorite summer activities like our local farmers markets are ending. Next Sunday, Sept. 8 will be the final market in Russiaville  and we don’t want you to miss the goodies you’ll find there. HoneyBee’s Farm, a local vendor, sells homemade jams, granola, cookies, and more. She shared some goodies with us and they reminded our family about the special taste of homemade food. The chocolate chip cookies disappeared first and are what we were told about when we first discovered HoneyBee’s Farm. You can see what products they have available by checking out their Facebook page.

Hiking Experience Kit from the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library
220 N. Union St., Kokomo, IN 46901 | 765-457-3242

Get outside and play with your kids before the weather changes. Hiking is a low-cost and low impact hobby your whole family can enjoy together. Indiana is home to more than 30 state parks and recreation areas where established trails are available. We are so lucky to have an urban forest at Jackson Morrow park with trails along the creek as well. Grab your best hiking boots or walking shoes and check out the Hiking Experience Kit from
KHCPL with your library card. The kit includes a backpack, binoculars, a pair of anti-shock trekking poles, and the book “Indiana Trees & Wildflowers” by James Kavanagh. You can find more details about this kit on the KHCPL Website. You can search “Experience Kit” in the online catalog to view more experience kits as well.
