Cristal Celta: First Look Gallery

John Moore, a third-generation Irish-American and avid mineral and crystal collector, founded Cristal Celta in November 2024 after a life-changing trip to Ireland. Inspired by his passion for rockhounding and the natural beauty of minerals, he opened this independent shop to share his love for crystals and Irish heritage.

Cristal Celta, located at 914 E. Center Road in Kokomo, offers a wide selection of minerals and crystals from around the globe. Named from the Gaelic for “Celtic Crystal,” the shop reflects owner John Moore’s Irish heritage.

“I truly believe I offer the largest most diverse selection of minerals and crystal products in Kokomo and immediate areas.” Moore said.

The photo gallery highlights Cristal Celta’s diverse offerings, including raw materials, shaped items, and intricate carvings. Alongside its extensive collection of minerals and crystals, the shop also carries incense, jewelry, and novelty items. Notably, it offers traditional Irish Claddagh rings with adjustable sizing, perfect for local young men and women celebrating milestones.

Moore said he is eager to welcome visitors of all ages to Cristal Celta, aiming to foster a sense of community where guests can shop or simply stop by to connect. He envisions the shop as a welcoming space for crystal enthusiasts, collectors, metaphysical healers, and intuitive practitioners. Families with children have been among his delighted visitors, reinforcing the inclusive and inviting atmosphere he hopes to create.

“Children [that visit the shop] tell me all about the rocks and crystals they’ve learned about in science class. I want to support that learning by engaging children in hands-on activities here in the shop,” Moore said.

The shop includes a cozy area where guests can create custom bracelets or what Moore calls “Cup Jewelry,” a unique way to personalize and decorate drinking cups. This interactive space encourages creativity and adds a personal touch to visits at Cristal Celta.

Cristal Celta will soon introduce live online sales via social media, expanding its reach to customers virtually, according to Moore. Additionally, the shop features a rentable space intended for practitioners such as Reiki healers, tarot card readers, or psychics, enhancing its service offerings. Moore is also planning workshops and learning sessions in 2026, further establishing Cristal Celta as a community hub for education and metaphysical exploration.
