City of Firsts Adventure Park Gets Facelift for 2023 Season

City of Firsts Adventure Park is preparing for another season in the Kokomo community — featuring updates to the arcade, batting cages, mini golf and more.

“A lot of stuff is in the works and we’re pretty excited about it,” said owner Jesse Gonzales.

Walk through the doors of this family hangout and you’ll notice a lot of new arcade games, including 10 vintage pinball machines ranging in themes from Elvis, Domino’s Pizza, Star Wars, Ghost Busters and more.

Gonzales said Scanlines Arcade (formerly located at 1510 S. Market St.) will be operating seven days a week at the City of First's Parks.

“It feels right, having everything under one roof. We’re excited to get started,” said owner of Scanlines Ryan Calhoun.

City of Firsts will no longer be offering wristbands for the arcade, but instead the games will be priced per play. Regular arcade games will be 50 cents per play with pinball games costing $1 per play. Guests will have access to a website where they can track their high scores and compete against other gamers.

Scanlines will be open seven days a week, including from noon to midnight on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Updates are also slated for the batting cages which feature slow and fast pitch baseball and softball, as well as updates to the mini golf course.

“The plan is to finish updates and open the park soon. The arcade, mini golf and batting cages will be open throughout the week, with go-karts opening on the weekend later on in the season,” said Gonzales.
