The historic Seiberling Mansion’s halls have been decked for the holidays and you’re invited to join in the merriment. From 1 to 4 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday through Dec. 31, the Kokomo community may tour more than a dozen decorated rooms in the elegant mansion.
“I love seeing the mansion transformed. It becomes very magical during the Christmas season. Every year is a little different than the year before,” said Anne Shaw, executive director of the Howard County Historical Society.
For the weeks leading up to the Christmas season, 17 individual decorators were invited to put their personal touch on each room’s decorations to help tell the story of what Christmas means to them for this year’s theme, A Symbolic Christmas.
Admission for Christmas at The Seiberling is $10 a person for adults and $5 for children 18 years and under.
There will also be multiple sponsored nights where guests can enjoy The historic Seiberling for free thanks to sponsors in our community, including Ivy Tech Kokomo, Community First Bank, Holiday Inn Express, Financial Builders Credit Union and First Farmers Bank & Trust. Sponsored nights are Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16.
Free candlelight tours sponsored by Duke Energy will be offered from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17. The lights inside of the Seiberling will be lowered during this time for an elegant “candlelight” Christmas experience.
Tickets are available online by visiting www.hchistory.org or by clicking here. Please note: tickets to the free nights may be reserved online at the website listed above, or be claimed at the door on a first-come, first-served, basis.
