During this Easter season, it’s common for members of the Catholic community to participate in Lent, which consists of praying, fasting, and eating a lot of fish.

If you’re searching for a Lent-friendly option, or just looking to try something new, you’ve come to the right spot. Here are 7 Lenten Meals that you can’t miss in Kokomo!

Perch Fillet from Martinos

1929 N. Washington St. Kokomo

Since 1962, the Martino family has brought amazing, homemade food to Kokomo. While they are known for their authentic Italian cuisine, you aren’t going to want to skip out on this Friday special! A perch fillet, with homemade tartar sauce, golden fried to perfection. Chefs Kiss

Since 2015, Kokomo Fish, Chicken & Gyros has perfected their comfort food menu to bring you some of the most coveted entrees that a Hoosier could ask for. When it comes to fish, options aren’t lacking here. Choose from Catfish, Ocean Perch, Tilapia, Whiting, or Oysters, and a side of coleslaw or french fries. Make sure to add Kokomo Fish Chicken & Gyros to your Friday night dinner plans!

Celtic Fish n’ Chips from Cook McDoogal’s Irish Pub

100 N. Main St., Kokomo, IN 46901

Cook McDoogals is most definitely a fan favorite for amazing Irish-style pub food, so it comes as no surprise that their Fish ‘n Chips make this list! Unlike your typical fish ‘n chips which are usually battered and deep-fried, Cooks adds a little bit of spice with a fresh salmon filet topped with sherry dijon sauce and paired with coleslaw and fries.

Cajun Catfish Bites at Missy’s Family Restaurant

503 N. Buckeye St, Kokomo

Located on scenic Buckeye Street in Kokomo, tucked away in a corner, is one of my favorite new spots in town! While Missy’s breakfast is worthy of praise, I’ve heard rave reviews about their Cajun Catfish Bites that make their way onto the menu every Friday. This item might be a hidden gem, I’ll leave it up to you to decide!

The catfish fillet is a popular Friday special at this quaint spot. Fresh, hand-breaded, and cooked to perfection with your choice of their spectacular sides. This spot will leave you and your stomach full.
