The spooky season is here and that means local kids are looking to exchange tricks for treats this Halloween. There will be plenty of opportunities for families to participate in trick-or-treating and Halloween events this year. Here is your list of local Halloween events for kids and families.

Oct. 12, Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department Pumpkin Painting

All are welcome for Pumpkin Painting with the Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Jackson Morrow Park. Pumpkins and paint supplies will be available near the Kirkendall Nature Center while supplies last.


Oct. 12, Finding Me Now Learning Center Trunk-or-Treat

Finding Me Now Learning Center is hosting a trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m.  Finding Me Now Learning Center is located at 103 W. Southway Blvd. in Kokomo. The event is open to the public with lots of candy and fun! The parking lot will be used for the event so participants should please park in other nearby lots and walk to the event.


Oct. 12, Kokomo Pride Halloween Party

On Saturday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., Kokomo Pride is hosting a Halloween party at the Community Depot Room. There will be music, games, activities, prizes, and a costume contest for the kids beginning at 7:30 p.m.


Oct. 17, Bona Vista’s Early Childhood Program Trunk-or-Treat

Join the fun of the spooky season with Bona Vista’s Early Childhood Program during the 3rd annual trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. at 1220 E. Laguna St. in Kokomo. Bring the family and wear your costumes! For more information, contact Bona Vista at (765) 454-5340.


Oct. 17, Pumpkin Painting at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville Branch

All ages are welcome to pumpkin painting at the Nature Explorer Outdoor Classroom at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville Branch from 6 to 7 p.m. Dress for a mess and some artistic fun.

Begin your child's day off with a burst of creativity at Fired Arts Studio. This workshop series is recommended for children ages 3 and up. Little artists are welcome to express themselves by decorating a beautiful piece of pottery with a parent or guardian. The workshop begins with a story read aloud and then transitions to a fun, themed project related to the story. A reservation is required because seating is limited. This week’s story is “Skeletons Are Not Spooky” by Duds and Kaine and participants will paint a rimmed salad plate. Oct. 19, Indiana Heartland Federal Credit Union Fall Festival

Get ready for the 2nd Annual IHFCU Fall Festival! Buck is busy preparing for a fun-filled day on Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is open to the public, so bring your friends, wear your costumes, and show them how awesome it is to be a member of IHFCU! Participants will be able to play games, win prizes, and enjoy some delicious Hawg Heaven together.


Oct. 19, Solidarity Kids Community Halloween Party

Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union is thrilled to invite you and your family to our free Kids Community Halloween Party!  Join the staff at Solidarity on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an afternoon of fun, excitement, and Halloween magic. There will be pony rides from Wrangler & Friends, a petting zoo from Narrow Gates Horse Ranch, monster truck rides, face painting by Jess Jones, inflatables, a drums alive performance with the Kokomo-Howard Public Library, and participants can meet the Salem Sisters with Royal Events. Oct. 19, Financial Center Trunk-or-Treat

The Financial Center will host their 2nd annual trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Visit Financial Center First Credit Union at 1935 S. Dixon Road in Kokomo for candy, games, and music. Participants can bring canned or non-perishable food items to benefit the Center Township Trustee Food Pantry.


Oct. 25, St. Patrick and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Trunk-or-Treat

St. Patrick and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Churches welcome everyone to attend their 7th annual trunk-or-treat event on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. This event is free and there will be hot dogs and water for participants in addition to lots of candy and fun.


Oct. 25, Fuel Church Neighborhood Fall Fest

Fuel Church will host a Neighborhood Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Neighborhood Fall Fest is a great chance to unwind, spend quality time with family, connect with friends, and meet new people. There will be food, fun, and games. There’s something everyone in your family will love—including your kids! You can find more information on the Fuel Church website.


Oct. 25, Indiana Behavior Analysis Academy Trunk-or-Treat

Indiana Behavior Analysis Academy will host their 3rd annual trunk-or-treat spooktacular event on Friday, Oct. 25, beginning at 5:30 p.m. until dark. The event will be in the IBAA Early Learning Center parking lot at 1315 E. Hoffer St. in Kokomo. Bring out the family for candy and free drinks. Oct. 25, Girl Scout Troops of Howard and Tipton Counties Trunk-or-Treat

Oct. 25, Trunk-or-Treat at Silver Birch of Kokomo

Visit the residents and staff at Silver Birch of Kokomo and celebrate Halloween. The trunk-or-treat event will be held at the assisted living community located at 408 S. Washington St., in Kokomo. Oct. 26, Boo Bash in Downtown Peru

Our neighbors in Peru will be celebrating with a Boo Bash on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. downtown. Beginning at 5 p.m., the event will have an inclusive hour that is sensory- and allergy-friendly. Then, all families can trick-or-treat throughout downtown from 6 to 8 p.m. Businesses and organizations can still sign up to participate. For more information, find the event on Facebook


Oct. 26, Candy Crawl at the Markland Mall

Grab your costumes and head to the Markland Mall at 1114 17th St., in Kokomo for the annual Candy Crawl. There will be tricks and treats throughout the mall from 5 to 7 p.m. Stop in to shop, eat, and play during this fun community event.


Oct. 26, Kokomo Family YMCA Halloween Hustle 5K Fun Run

Bring the family to the Kokomo Family  YMCA on Saturday, Oct. 26, for a spooky good time! The YMCA will host a Halloween Hustle 5K fun run and a Monster Mini Fun Run that you won't want to miss. Costumes are encouraged for participants of all ages, as there will be a costume contest. All ages are welcome, and you don’t have to be a runner to join in on the fun. The 5K course is ready for runners, walkers, strollers, and four-legged friends. After the race, there will be a post-run party with a candy crawl, vendors, food trucks, and music. Oct. 26, Trunk-or-Treat at First EPC Church

First EPC church will host its 4th annual trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. This is a free, public event where all are welcome. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for even more fun. Allergy-friendly treats are available when you ask for the teal bucket.


Oct. 26, Trunk-or-Treat at Center Road Church of Christ

A little ghost might tell you that Center Road Church of Christ will be hosting a trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Center Road and Park Road at 899 W. 300 S., Kokomo. Stop by for candy and family fun.


Oct. 26, Monster Mash Bash

You won’t want to miss what’s happening at Jackson Morrow Park for Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department’s and Windmill Grill’s Monster Mash Bash on Saturday, Oct. 26. There will be fun fall activities including trick-or-treating and a costume contest from 3 to 6 p.m. Then as it gets dark and spooky you can check out the haunted trail walk from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be vendors and other activities happening throughout the event. Oct. 26, Ghouls and Goblins in Greentown

Greentown is where the treats will be on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as the Greentown Main Street Association and other local businesses and organizations have planned for a day full of fun.  The day begins with the final Greentown Farmer’s Market of the season starting at 10 a.m., followed by festive events on Meridian Street starting at 2 p.m. and a trick-or-treat trail for families beginning at 3 p.m.


Oct. 26, South Pole Car Show and Trunk-or-Treat

The South Pole and the Jackwagons Car Club are hosting a car show and trunk-or-treat from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Bring your little ghouls and goblins to enjoy the cars and candy. Car show entries should arrive with candy to share and register between 1 and 3 p.m. Awards will include Kids' Pick and Best Decorated Car.


Oct. 26, Trunk or Treat by Women Coming Together

Everyone is welcome to visit for candy, glow sticks, and fun in the Scouting America Sagamore Council building parking lot at 518 N. Main St. from 3 to 4 p.m.


Oct. 27, Trunk-or-Treat at Chapel Hill Christian Church

Chapel Hill Christian Church at 2600 W. Alto Road in Kokomo will host it’s annual trunk-or-treat event on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. Bring your family and friends in their favorite costumes. There will be lots of candy and fun with friends from Chapel Hill Christian Church.


Oct. 28, Howard County Sheriff’s Office Trunk-or-Treat

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office will host its 2nd annual trunk-or-treat from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1800 W. Markland Ave. in Kokomo on Monday, Oct. 28. This is a festive way to celebrate the holiday safely with decorated trunks, many treats, and other activities for everyone to enjoy


Oct. 29, Trunk-or-Treat at Little Rugrats Early Learning Center

Little Rugrats Early Learning Center is hosting its first annual drive-through trunk-or-treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to drive through and get your goodies or park to take pictures in the decorated photo booth. The business will also be serving hot dogs, chips, and water until supplies last.


Oct. 30, Trick-or-Treat at Northwoods Village

This Halloween, join the staff and residents at Northwoods Village for trick-or-treating on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. Children can trick or treat around the square, with our residents and team members handing out candy to all the ghosts, princesses, superheroes, and more. We’ll have candy for the kids and refreshments for the adults. We’ll be offering hot cider and cookies as well. Come celebrate the spooky season with your friends and family at Northwoods Village. Oct. 30, Center Township Trustee’s Office Trunk-or-Treat

Visit the Center Township Trustee’s Office at 213 E. Jefferson St. in Kokomo from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, for another special Halloween event. All are welcome to join in on the fun, and costumes are encouraged. There will be hot chocolate, apple cider, and cookies, so don’t miss out.


Oct. 30, Trunk-or-Treat with Glamour and Grace Boutique

Glamour and Grace Boutique will host a trunk-or-treat event in the parking lot of Brookstone Suites at 1201 W. Alto Road in Kokomo. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., the parking lot will be lined with cars waiting for trick-or-treaters with lots of candy. Brandon’s Burgers food truck will be on-site as well as Polished Penny for the adults.


Oct. 30, Halloween Event at Sycamore Village Care Center

Sycamore Village Care Center, at 2905 W. Sycamore Road in Kokomo is hosting a community Halloween event. Get your costumes on and visit to celebrate together with candy and light refreshments. Contact Sycamore Village for more details at (765) 452-5491.


Oct. 30, Jeep & Treat with Mystic Images Tattoo

Mystic Images Tattoo Studio in Kokomo will host its first Jeep & Treat Halloween event in front of the store at 513 S. Reed Road, Kokomo, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jeep owners are encouraged to decorate their Jeeps and hand out candy to visitors. A prize will be awarded for the best-decorated Jeep in a people’s choice contest. If you don’t own a Jeep, bring a treat bag, check out the decorated vehicles, and join in the family fun with costumes, candy, and pizza.


Oct. 30, Salvation Army Trunk-or-Treat

The Salvation Army will host a trunk-or-treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 1105 S. Waugh St. in Kokomo. There will be food, hot chocolate, and plenty of candy for families that join in.


Oct. 31, Abundant Life Church Trunk-or-Treat

Both Kokomo (865 E. 400 S., Kokomo) and Peru (105 S. Benton St., Peru) Abundant Life Church campuses will join in on the Halloween fun with a family-friendly trunk-or-treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be lots of candy and fun for the whole family.


Oct. 31, Boulevard Crossing Plaza Trunk-or-Treat

Enjoy trick-or-treating at some of your favorite stores in Boulevard Crossing Plaza on Halloween night from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will feature free hot dogs.


Oct. 31, Candy and Campers at Stellhorn RV & Camping Center

Stellhorn RV & Camping Center, located at 3116 S. Boulevard in Kokomo, welcomes the public to trick-or-treat from 4 to 6 p.m. throughout the facility. There will be giant buckets of candy, music, and games. It’s a fun, safe, indoor event for everyone.


Oct. 31, Maconaquah FFA Annual Trunk-or-Treat

For our neighbors to the north, the Maconaquah High School FFA will host a free trunk-or-treat event at Maconaquah Middle School, 595 E. 800 S., Bunker Hill. It is recommended to enter through door 15E. The event will take place Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., and all are welcome to join in for fun and lots of candy.


Oct. 31, Tipton Annual Downtown Halloween Spooktacular

Those located south of Kokomo won’t want to miss the Tipton Annual Downtown Halloween Spooktacular from 5 to 7 p.m. Local businesses and organizations will be set up around the downtown square (Jefferson, Main, Madison, Court, and Independence streets), offering treats for everyone. Businesses and organizations interested in participating should contact Shelly Powell, marketing and events manager at the Tipton County Public Library, at 765-675-0212.


Oct. 31, Turnabout Community Resource Center Trunk-or-Treat

On Halloween night, Turnabout Community Resource Center, 190 N. Union St. in Russiaville, will host a trunk-or-treat from 5 to 8 p.m. Stop by with your family for candy and snacks.


Oct. 31, Trick-or-Treat at Wellbrooke of Kokomo

Bring your little ghosts and goblins for trick-or-treating and a night of family fun on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be a haunted house tour and a photo booth. Contact Wellbrooke of Kokomo at (765) 455-4443 to RSVP or learn more.


Oct. 31, Trick-or-Treat at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville Branch

Trick-or-Treat in Russiaville! There will be a spookily good time happening from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom at KHCPL Russiaville. Oct. 31 will be the final day to play in the straw maze, but you won’t want to miss the candy and prizes in the piñata at 6 p.m.
