Riverwalk Concert Series Reveals 2024 Lineup

As the warmer months grace Kokomo with their presence, the city comes alive with local events celebrating arts, music, and community. The Riverwalk Concert Series is an annual favorite, and organizers announced a lineup packed with a variety of artists and genres — as well as a few new additions to the series this year.

Hosted by The Coterie and orchestrated by owner Kyle Gibson, the Riverwalk Concert Series has become a cornerstone of Kokomo’s cultural landscape. Known for his dedication to “keeping Kokomo weird,” Gibson's passion for the arts, creativity and community shines through in every aspect of the event.

From soul, bluegrass, rock, pop, punk and more, the series has hosted a variety of different genres, as well as local and national artists on the Riverwalk pavilion behind the Foxes Trail.

Gibson, the mastermind behind local staples like Brews on Buckeye, said the Riverwalk series holds a special place for him.

“Honestly, it's one of my favorite things I've done in Kokomo,” said Gibson. “I love seeing the city come together and enjoy music and enjoying beautiful downtown. I love the kids are running, dogs are frolicking, music is jamming, people are dancing and smiling with no care in the world. There are a lot of places where a human can be and for them to share their time with me and my events is something that I will cherish forever.”

As anticipation builds for the 2024 edition of the Riverwalk Concert Series, Gibson has unveiled an exciting array of performers, including:

Aug. 17: Aaron Kamm & the One Drops, and Fresh Hops

Sept. 14: Chloe Kimes, and Isaac Rudd & The Revolvers

Sept. 21: Hyryder

Sept. 28: LITZ and Pushing Daisy’s Band

Oct. 5: Jeremy Short and Davey & The Midnights

But the festivities don’t end with the music. Each week, the festival features booths dedicated to local artists, ranging from one-of-a-kind artwork to jewelry and apparel. And when hunger strikes, don’t worry. The Coterie will be serving up the 5th best burger in Kokomo, alongside an array of local brews to quench your thirst.

Gibson said he has been collaborating with the city on the start of the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area initiative, which would allow patrons to enjoy beverages while exploring downtown Kokomo—which could be an exciting new dimension to the Riverwalk experience.

And with a shift to later dates in late summer and early fall, Gibson said, attendees can look forward to milder temperatures and even more enjoyable outdoor festivities.

“The way the city concert schedule and holidays run this year, it just made more sense to focus on late summer and early fall,” Gibson said. “Plus, we like the weather better!”

Above all, the essence of the Riverwalk Concert Series lies in its ability to unite the community in a celebration of music, art, and togetherness. Gibson noted that thanks to the generosity of local sponsors, the event remains free and accessible to all, inviting families, children, and even furry friends to partake in the magic.

So, Kokomo, mark your calendars and prepare to immerse yourself in the world of the Riverwalk Concert Series. See you there!
